We KNOW you’re in Salt Lake City……we KNOW you are in contest mode…….BUT don’t forget this amazing event on Friday night. 10 pm, Hilton Grand Ballroom.
After last weekend’s three contests, we are pleased to report on some new champs among us!
Ontario District Convention hosted an MBHA Mixed Chorus Contest. The trophy, sponsored by Nancy and Digger MacDougall, was awarded to Undercover Mix, an MBHA-registered chorus from Woodstock, ON. Their winning set included, “A Whole New World (Aladdin)” and “Eight Days A Week.” Congratulations to Undercover Mix!
Central States District Convention also hosted an MBHA Mixed Quartet Contest. The trophy, sponsored by Ron Morden, was awarded to Date Night, an MBHA-registered quartet from Kansas. Their winning set included, “I’m In The Mood For Love,” and “As Long As I Live.” Congratulations to Date Night!
Following up on our 9/26 post regarding the Stockton Portsmen — we have good news! Their groundbreaking entry in the Far Western District‘s Fall Chorus Contest earned them the MBHA Chorus Trophy! As a result of that win, they were invited to perform on the Saturday night Show of Champions — for some members of 60+ years, it was their first time they were included in a “final night” performance!
MBHA is pleased to report that there are contests this fall that will be open to mixed quartets and choruses! We encourage all competing mixed quartets to consider joining MBHA (if you haven’t already done so), even if your District doesn’t REQUIRE you to do so! There are many advantages to being a MBHA member! See our Membership tab above for more information.
